Snow and Ohayocon

xanithofdragonsMore heavy snow in my area. Surprise surprise. It was crazy when I was driving home from school. Not the snow, that is, but the drivers... It took me nearly two hours to get home when it usually takes less than ten minutes.
T_T The roads themselves weren't actually too bad with snow and ice (except for that one part which I usually use on my way home which was supposedly sheer ice or something) but the lines of cars just sitting around not moving for some unknown reasons were horrible impediments to my journey home. If I had known the problem, I wouldn't have minded so much (and probably would have been able to decide to turn around and find a different route sooner than I did.) I eventually figured out the problem with the first long line of waiting cars (the sheer ice thing) and turned around, having to take a much longer route home, but I never did learn the reason for the long line of cars much closer to home. I think I spent most of the time getting home stubbornly waiting to take my usual route. :<
With snow this bad, I'm wondering what my school district will have to do tomorrow. I think a delay is likely, since the roads don't look like they'll get much better very quick and what with the wind storms and power outages back in autumn and all the cancellations last week, they won't want to close school any more... Okay, school district just called, 2-hour delay. I am kinda hoping things will get better, since my AP teachers don't need any more stress to teach us in time and since I left my calculus homework due Thursday at school, figuring I'd have time to finish it at school tomorrow. ^^
I went to Ohayocon this past weekend with some friends from school. It was my first anime convention, so it was an exciting experience. My parents were actually so kind as to be chaperones for us at the hotel, so I'm really grateful to them for that. Also, I've learned that they trust me rather a lot (from my mom repeatedly telling me that she trusts me.) I cosplayed as Hungary from Axis Powers Hetalia on Saturday and Sunday, and a few people actually recognized me! Of course, most of this happened as I was waiting in line to get lunch on Saturday when I was both really tired and really hungry, so I barely remember it. But I was able to meet the wonderful Canada cosplayer![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
pallasathene87! Hello! I hope to get to know you better and talk with you more. I'd talk more about the con, but I already spent so much time rambling on about the weather that I think for now I'll just say that I had a good time.
