Some CDs I ordered arrived yesterday. I didn't post yesterday because it was late by the time I finished listening to them. ^^;

Cut for picture and me having a lot of things to say about Perfume )

Up until now, Game has been my favorite Perfume album. I liked the overall sound and feel of it and liked each of the songs in Game. Triangle and JPN kind of had their ups and downs. There were some songs I really liked and some that didn't do much for me. For JPN, I really liked the single songs for it, but I felt like the album songs were a little lacking. Then, with Love the World and its Nakata-is-lazy remixes, I was a little concerned about whether he would do something like that again, but I think the remixes of single songs on LEVEL 3 really worked. I really love all of the new songs for this album, too. Overall, I think LEVEL 3 is really solid. I think it could become my favorite Perfume album.

My order came in on Tuesday, but I was a bit busy to post about it.

So today we have a radio rip of Perfume's new single song, and a like split-second teaser for the PV.

So, the Japanese classes, I've been through, tend not to cover onomatopoeia much. By which I mean hardly ever. So when I came across it when I'm reading something I tend to not know or only vaguely know what most of them mean, which means I have to look up onomatopoeia all the time. And since onomatopoeia is used so commonly in Japanese, it's something I get more and more aware of.

So of course, I look it up when I really need to know the meaning, but so many aren't really in dictionaries. If they're not in dictionaries, then I resort to googling it which is my solution to all words/phrases which I can't find in dictionaries or which dictionaries explain inadequately. (It's especially useful for words or phrases specific to certain dialects.) But then sometimes I can't even figure it out by googling it. That is where I am now.

The next method I'm trying is asking on a FB status and hoping Japanese friends know what it is, but the first person to comment says she doesn't know either. This is not looking good.

This evening, I got started looking at Perfume videos on youtube, and found this cool fanvideo. Sometimes when I'm watching Perfume videos on youtube, I end up watching a bunch of Perfume videos. Perfume's great~ ♥

So, my wait until more releases in August are announced strategy has been successful, and I mass-ordered some stuff this morning. Both limited editions of Kisumai's next single, WANNA BEEEE!!!/Shake it up, and the limited edition of Perfume's next single, Spending all my time, coming out 8/15, and androp's new single coming out the next week. <3 But now I have just spent about $90 on CDs. Of course, I spent more than that on the Kis-My-Mint DVD, which hasn't even come yet. It might come today! Or tomorrow! Or next week... Waiting...

Now watch that Arashi releases something in August but doesn't announce it until July or something, lol. I feel like Arashi has been announcing their releases all fairly close to the release date recently. Or at least they wait later than other groups do.

I'm looking forward to Beginners, and to hearing what WANNA BEEEE!!! will sound like. I want to know what kind of song requires all caps, extra 'E's, and excessive exclamation points.

This is a stuff I bought in Japan post. And therefore image heavy. 12 pictures. It also became really text heavy. Oops.

Yeah, that became a long post... Unrelated video of the post time: here.

It hit me just now, while listening to "Come back to me" that I've been a fan of Arashi for over 1 year. It's probably been about a year and a half by now, even. I've watched them through their year of releasing a ridiculous number of singles, I've watched them release one album, and in a month I'll have watched them release two albums. There's not really much of a point to all of this, but this is mostly a journal for me here, a documentation of my experiences.

The above aside, this has been feeling like a Perfume day for me. I changed my desktop background to a Perfume one. I had been using the previous one for a few months, anyway. Also, the previous one was largely white, and this one is largely black, which is good for me, since I tend to be a bit oversensitive to light. I have my laptop's screen set to the lowest brightness setting, and it's still too bright! I wish it would go lower. I was also watching some tv appearances Perfume had made and remembering how funny they are. I more and more want to buy one of their live dvds... I'm probably going to go look at prices after posting this...

It feels like it's been too long since I talked about video games in here, most likely because I haven't been taking the time to play as much. I don't remember the last time I got a game either. No wait, yes I do. It was Recettear. The last time I talked about actually playing video games on here was last October... I do play them still. More now that I'm on break from school, but it's been awhile since I've done anything that felt like it was worth posting about. It probably also helps that I don't talk much about games with people, especially on the internet.

I haven't changed my icons on here in a really long time, but whenever I look at icons I don't see any I feel like using. I kinda want to, though...

So this past weekend I was really busy, and then I've been sick the last couple of days. I felt like I should post, but there's really not much to post about, is there?

Except for two stand-out pieces of excitement today:

1. Arashi - Mada Minu Sekai he radio rip Don't ask how many times I've listened to it already, because I don't know how many. I'm really excited about their upcoming album.

2. Momoiro Clover charming me with a video that's both adorable and hilarious. This means I'm getting into another group. ^^

And earlier this week, I was able to get my hands on a limited edition copy of Perfume's latest single, Laser Beam/Kasukana Kaori. I felt really lucky about finding it, and it came with a pretty poster! I also watched videos of some of their performances today. It's always lovely. Their dancing is so precise. It started with me wanting to watch performances of Kasukana Kaori, but what really blew me away was this performance of Take Me Take Me.

I coincidentally wrote the tags for this post in alphabetical order. Hurray for me!

T_T )

To depress you less, I feel like I am being bombarded with good news about my favorite music groups lately. All the things I'm hearing about Perfume and capsule lately because of Nakata Yasutaka 2 in 1 month have been fun. (Perfume's releasing a single, capsule's releasing an album, Nakata Yasutaka produces the music for both, ergo Nakata Yasutaka 2 in 1 month) And to make the month even better for Perfume, one of their songs was chosen to be used in the movie Cars 2. \(^_^)/ I'm so happy for them. Here, listen to how awesome they are. So awesome that watching their videos distracted me from writing this post. And just recently, it was announced that Arashi would be releasing a dvd in June and a new album in July. I already preordered the dvd, and will most likely buy the album. <3

So I'm a little sad after my last post, because no one asked me any questions. D: So I'll try again on this post: Ask me any questions you want about anything in the comments for this entry, and after a few days/when I've gotten enough questions, I'll make a post answering all the questions I feel comfortable answering. No limit on the number of questions you can ask. Examples of questions to inspire you: Ask me the kind of things you'd like to see in an intro post, ask me what's my favorite ____? (Although I'm bad at answering those kinds of questions...), ask me about my personal life, ask me about my fandoms, ask about my educational background, ask me what I like about things I like, if you don't know what I like, ask me what I like.

I think I might rework some of my tags soon since most of them are too vague and don't really tell you what specifically I'm talking about in a post. Good thing I don't have too many entries on lj.

In my only class today, we were in class less than an hour and our professor let us out early because he was out of things to say about the reading in a discussion-based class... It's a 2 hour class. *shrugs*

Recently, a preview of Perfume's new song, Laser Beam was posted on two communities I follow on lj. Aside from the normal comments I'd expect of "Love it" "Good, but not hooked, waiting for full version" "Don't like it" etc., I noticed an interested difference between comments on the two communities. In the first community, which focuses more generally on Japanese entertainment news and info, there were some comments saying that it was the same as all their recent stuff, or that the commenter missed some earlier period. On the second community, which focuses specifically on info for fans of Nakata Yasutaka, there were comments saying that it reminded them of some of Perfume's earlier stuff (in a good way.)

I just found this clear difference between the comments interesting, even though it was only a couple of comments on each post.

I watched the new episode of Misfits just now, and I'm not even going to say anything about the episode itself. Why?

OMFG, THE PREVIEW FOR THE NEXT EPISODE, OMFG. SO OMFG THAT I HAD TO FIND IT ON YOUTUBE JUST TO WATCH IT AGAIN. That is all.

But no, good episode. Seems like they're following last season a bit in the formatting, by having most episodes focus on one of the characters. It's a really good way for them to build up the characters, I think.

This day in general has been pretty good. Starting with: my order of Arashi's Hatenai Sora and Perfume's Game arrived today!Geeking out over packaging, my beloved hobby )

I also went to see a play at my college. It was The Real Inspector Hound by Tom Stoppard. <3 Tom Stoppard is wonderful. If his name sounds familiar, it might be because of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead. I was laughing and inwardly squeeing through most of the show. ^_^

And, I might as well mention it, just because, but I started watching the Togainu no Chi anime last night. IDK why, except because I keep seeing the franchise mentioned around the place so much that I was curious and felt like checking it out. It's kinda so-so. It can be entertaining, but partially in the sense of entertaining where I mock whatever I find ridiculous. Like how they keep running off on their own all the time to places that're super dangerous where inevitably, people will try to kill them as part of the competition in which defeating people by killing them is perfectly acceptable. Also, drugs are bad! Of course, since I'm watching it alone, I'm only joking to myself... Well, considering that how quickly I went through all the episodes available, clearly I enjoy it. Might be mostly because it's based off of a bl game. Just maybe.

I've been getting into Perfume lately. It's a Japanese technopop group. This is one of their songs. I first learned about them from a girl I met during the class I took this summer. She showed me Chocolate Disco and One Room Disco. Since then, I've found other songs of theirs on youtube. All of their videos are really cute or cool, and I think their songs are pretty catchy. I don't know for sure, but if you like technopop, you might like Perfume?

Anyway, bonus video.

And yes, I do want to learn the Chocolate Disco dance.

Today I went to the doctor's office. Nothing really exciting though, just a quick check-up. More importantly, I went to Borders and Gamestop after going to the doctor's office. At Borders, I bought the first volume of Gantz and the first volume of Bakuman, and at Gamestop, I bought BlazBlue Calamity Trigger Portable. I won't be able to play it for a while though, since I left my PSP at [livejournal.com profile] write_way_42's house back in May. Oops...

I'm so easily influenced...
