So it's been announced that Ebi will be starring in a drama series this summer! \(^_^)/ I'm really happy for them, because this means more chances for them to get their name out there and become better known, and if they sing the theme song, that could mean another new release from them! But, at the same time, I'm a little worried whether I'll actually like the drama. >_< I like hero drama well enough, but I fear that the fact their powers are related to their sexual inexperience and the echhi nature of the drama will turn me off from it. I mean, it looks like it's been well thought out, and they even made their powers connected to the five senses, so it has the potential to be quirky and fun. But on the other side of things, it also has the potential to be gross and sexist (what doesn't though?). >_< I mean, I've seen things that handled sexuality in a comedic way and were actually funny, but I feel like I've seen more comedies handle sexuality in ways that are really... juvenile. Oh well, if it ends up bad, I hope it's at least more juvenile and careless than gross and sexist, but I do want it to be actually funny and good!

On that note, I think I'll do my "dramas I'm watching this season" post now. We're only 2-3 episodes in, but there's already a lot I want to say about them!

First, Koda Kumi. (NSFW) KO-SO-KO-SO. Yeah, watching this video/listening to this song tons. I don't mention her often enough, but I love Koda Kumi. <3

Lately, I started watching two drama series: Hi wa Mata Noboru, and Yuusha Yoshihiko to Maou no Shiro. Hi wa Mata Noboru is about a former detective with some pretty serious emotional baggage and issues relating to other people teaching some new police officers at a police academy. So it can mostly be summed up as a cross between a school drama about a new teacher inspiring his students to succeed and a police drama, complete with the all-important police uniforms. And for some unknown reason, the students (male) end up wearing little to no clothing surprisingly often. (Twice I remember in 4 episodes. Every student in the class.)

Yuusha Yoshihiko to Maou no Shiro is a low-budget (it calls itself a low budget action adventure in the opening sequence) parody of rpg video games (with a tie-in specifically to Dragon Quest.) Lots of jokes about plots, vague directions, rpg battles, side quests, and plenty of non-rpg specific humor. I've found it quite amusing.

Ah, police dramas are where it's at.　I finished watching SPEC today (or Keizoku 2: Spec if you are curious and want to be able to find it). I thought everything was executed well in it. It was generally serious but handled the humor within it well. Most of the characters were pretty quirky, but their quirks were never their complete character, and most of them, all of the main players, were given a good deal of depth. As is clear, I really enjoyed it. The only thing wrong with it was a science fail that really stood out to me, but media usually fails forever at science, so what can one expect?

... I was just thinking about each of the police dramas I've watched recently, and conspiracies end up being ridiculously common in them. Huh.

I forgot to mention in my previous post that I started reading the Arakawa Under the Bridge manga. Super funny.
