おかしいな 「みんな」って 誰んだって?
Jul. 31st, 2012 02:26 pmOn Sunday, I went with my family to a park by Lake Michigan, and we spent the rest of the morning on a beach there. We ate lunch there too. It was pretty hot when it was getting to be past noon, though, so we left in the early afternoon. I waded in the lake a bunch. I really love water.

Unrelated video of the post time. They always make the lyrics sound so great. ♥ They also have a lot of really interesting video concepts.

While I was in Japan I noticed something change in the way my eyes looked. Like they shone more or were brighter or something. It's hard to explain. I thought that it was because I had started to wear eyeshadow regularly, so that the light was just reflecting differently or something like that, but then I noticed it a little while I was back here at home and not wearing makeup regularly (because I'm boring and don't go out ever). So I don't know what it is.
I also seem to have developed a habit of making words sound cuter. I've been calling cats, dogs, and rabbits kitties, puppies/doggies, and bunnies for a while, but it seems to have spread. The other day I called rust "a rusty" while trying to figure out if there was rust on my spoon. (Thankfully there wasn't.) I'm not sure how this started because I can't think of anything or anyone's speech patterns I'd be imitating by doing this.

And now it's unrelated video time.

今日はどこに行こうかなあ
Oct. 23rd, 2010 08:07 pm^_^ Today I got to wear my new yukata! No pics, though, sorry. Although I can't recall another time when I've had so many people wanting to take my picture. ^^ But my legs still hurt a little from standing so much, not really knowing how to sit in a yukata, and learning the kimono walk.
I also watched episode one of Furiitaa, Ie wo Kau this evening... and only understood maybe a fourth? a third? of it because I was watching the raw. But it's okay, because there's a scene in it which anyone can enjoy regardless of their knowledge of Japanese. And I'm not even talking about the scene involving Ninomiya with wet hair. Or the one involving him lying in the mud. Also because I was still able to get the main points of most of what anyone was saying. I'd figured I'd mostly be able to understand it, since we've been watching some drama in our Japanese class, and I've mostly been able to understand them. At least the main points... with the teacher explaining things. Anyway, strides forward in my Japanese education!

Steal Heart
Aug. 15th, 2008 09:44 amSince Fire Emblem was really hard and too annoying because characters died too easily, I've been playing Final Fantasy Tactics recently. It's an old game, and I have Tactics Advanced, but it's still amazing (and better than Tactics Advanced, imo.) I've played it before, but it's been so long that I mostly forget the story. Also, the story's kind of ridiculous, but that's also something that makes it great (and better than Tactics Advanced.) The music is beautiful, and the music in the opening totally gets me psyched up to play it. Also, I don't know about anyone else, but I still feel like some of the things they were able to do with the character sprites are positively brilliant. In short, this game is awesome.
I'm not sure how familiar anyone reading this is with Final Fantasy Tactics, so although I partially want to talk about some of the funny things in the game and how far I am in the game, I won't right now, but I might some other time.
Anyways, yesterday, I picked up my schedule for school. I already mostly knew it, except all the teachers and room numbers, since they were scheduling conflicts, but it's nice to have it on paper. While my family was out, we went to a fabric store, since I had told my parents that I wanted to make a Roman costume. Since there was some type of sale going on, we went ahead and bought fabric for it and some type of rope to use as a belt. I'll still need to get something to use for the fastenings at the shoulder and my mom said she needed to get thread, but it's exciting that I'm going to make it. If you're curious, the outfit I want to make is described here: http://www.vroma.org/~bmcmanus/clothing2.html It's the first one, the peplos. The other one was more common, but although I don't usually wear sleeveless clothing, I wouldn't want to deal with so much extra fabric around me all for the sake of sleeves.
In the past few days, I finally decided on a name for the fantasy world I've been working on: Nar. However, although I say I've decided I'm still not entirely sure. I've already come up with four characters in this world (before deciding on a name for it...), but I still need to draw a simple map of the world, come up with countries and names and governments for those countries. I have so very very much work to do on it...
