These came in the mail yesterday:

It was interesting to buy these books all together because each is a pretty different kind of book from the others.

I'm not sure why it came with that extra sheet at the front although it freaked me out when I first saw it because I thought I had ordered the wrong thing until I realized it was a separate sheet attached to the front. The book also came inside of a box (IDK). It does say on it that there've been 8 printings of it though. ^^ Kis-My-Ft2-1st is very much a photobook in that it is mostly photos of them with some text every once in a while, but even on the pages with text, the picture part is still bigger.

I had only ever seen stray pictures here and there of Kis-My-Ft2-1st before (and I didn't even really know they were from Kis-My-Ft2-1st because I saw them individually out of context), but there are so many great pictures I had never seen before in there. I especially love the Yokoo-clothed-in-the-shower pictures. Damn. Just daaamn. Yokoo won that round of sexy photoshoots in my biased opinion. I think I will just keep that page bookmarked forever and always.

I probably should have bought Nippon no Arashi while I was in Japan and saw it in bookstores everywhere, but better late than never. The impression I get of Nippon no Arashi flipping through it is that the picture to text ratio is close to 50:50. I first thought of it as being similar to a fancy magazine, but when I thought about it more, that's a good ratio for school textbooks, too. It was sent to schools first, after all. With Nippon no Arashi, too, actually looking at it and skimming the contents, I feel like I heard a lot about it without ever hearing what specifically was in it. I'm looking forward to reading it and learning more about Japan. ^_^

Most pictures are probably gonna be of the front, right? I'll show the back. ^_^ I remember seeing a fan say that Hadaka no Jidai was more book than she was expecting, and it ended up being even more book than I expected after reading that reaction. It's mostly text. Pages and pages of text. I wouldn't have guessed the interviews they did were enough to fill up a book until I saw it in front of me. I know I'm going to cry so much reading this. I already cried skipping ahead and reading the members' answers for who in Kisumai is the coollest and who in likes Kisumai the most. I guess it's proof that Kisumai has become important to me.

I have so much reading to do, and I'm excited about it. I've been wanting to work on increasing my Japanese reading speed anyway.
