Okay, it's been a few days since I asked for your questions. Now time to answer. (If you missed out and still have burning questions to be answered, go ahead and ask here or on the previous post, and I'll post again.)

What do you do on a weekly basis?
There's not a lot now that I'm on summer break, but I can think of two things I do every week: 1. Read the week's Bakuman chapter. I really like reading this manga. I've also bought one of the volumes out in English to fend off pirating guilt. Will probably buy more in the future. 2. Check the weekly Oricon rankings for singles, albums, and sometimes for dvds too. I also check the daily rankings at the beginning of the week to see some of the new releases and sometimes throughout the week as well if there's a release I'm really excited about. I also watch these cool videos on youtube previewing the the top 30 singles every week: example
What's something you can't live without right now?
I guess that'd be the internet, huh? Although strictly speaking I could live without it, it'd be a lot less fun to try to do that. The internet is also kinda important for communication in this day and age.
If you could have 3 wishes, what would they be?
Maybe I just don't want for much or maybe I don't really like the idea of getting the things I want through wishes. Anyway, assuming these are safe wishes and not the type that will backfire, here's what I came up with:
1. Enough money to pay off my and my family's debts. The thought of owing someone money makes me feel uncomfortable. D:
2. Johnny's youtube channel(s). Come on Johnny, what are you waiting for? Do you have any idea the kind of ad money you could make?
3. Everyone's horrible glaring misconceptions about Japan being cleared up. It's disgusting when one starts learning much about Japanese culture to start realizing how little people know about Japan.

1) What are you studying in school and why?
I'm studying Japanese Language and Culture for the official title of my major. I've been interested in Japan for I don't remember how long, and I love studying languages, so it works out pretty well.
2) What led you to decide on studying in Japan?
I'm majoring in Japanese, so it just worked out that way, I guess. I had planned study East Asia or Japan in college and study abroad in Japan before I even started college, so I can't even remember the reasons anymore.
3) What are your thoughts about mushrooms? XD
As food, I'm not sure what to think of them. The texture is kinda weird. As fungi I'm glad for the role they play in the balance of living things.
4) What are you favourite and hated foods? :D
Favourite: (in no particular order) Chicken, pickles, broccoli, ramen There are probably others I can't think of.
Hated: It's not food exactly, but I hate ketchup. Even the smell or sight of it disgusts me
5) Your hobbies?
Everything I would normally think of as my hobbies are things I haven't had as much time for lately... Video games, reading (usually fiction), I've been getting more into listening to music lately, and that's probably the hobby I most have time for. But it's my summer break, maybe I will have time for everything now!
'Kay, that's all for now. As I said, it's my summer break, and I have tons of free time (maybe less when I get a job, but still a lot). So I'll ask you now: Recommend me anything. Tv shows, books, manga, music, drama, movies, anything. If I can find it, I'll check it out. I'm especially interested in jdrama and movie recommendations, since I feel I don't know as many of those as I want to know and don't know where to start. If I get a lot of recs I might not have time for all of them, so I will check them out in order of how interesting they seem to me (you don't have to give me a summary or anything if you don't want to; I'll google it). If you tell me where to find something you rec, that would also help me. Also, if you recommend it here, I'll be sure to post my thoughts later on after checking it out here on lj.

Date: 2011-05-16 11:05 am (UTC)Good books. Have you read the Obernewtyn series by Isobelle Carmody. They're amazing. Also the latest Anne Rice novels like Blackwood Farm and Memnoch. As for music; Imogen Heap and Olivia Lufkin are usually on my playlist the most these days.

Date: 2011-05-18 05:06 am (UTC)I have not read that series. I will see if I can find it at the local library. What I've heard about Anne Rice makes me want to read her novels, but I haven't read any of them yet. I've heard a couple Imogen Heap songs before and I remember liking them, so it'll definitely be worthwhile to check more out. ^_^
