鳥は群れの仲間が懐かしくなるのか

Ugh, Kisumai, why are you putting my emotions on a roller-coaster ride?! Or, rambling about my Kisumai feelings Part 2. (For part one, see here.) Wow, it's been two months already. It doesn't seem that long ago.
The past couple of days I had a long comment thread going with
faded_lace because she mentioned "Kisumai depression" in one of her posts, and I felt like that sounded similar to what I had been experiencing. ^^; I guess what it boils down to is that something doesn't feel quite right with the way Kisumai is now, so I can't just enjoy them. I've been thinking a while about pulling back from Kisumai at least some, but a lot of things are making me waver.
In a way, I've already started pulling back. I already gave up on watching KisuBusa, and now I've given up on watching Kiss-My-Fake. I'll give KisuHama a little longer, but I've already cut out most of their variety appearances. I already talked in that previous post about how I got bored and frustrated with KisuBusa, but with both KisuBusa and Kiss-My-Fake, it felt like the announcers and guests weren't treating them just like normal idols and kept feeling the need to tease them. I wouldn't mind if it was just teasing them after they did something silly; that's normal on variety shows. But they would tease them from the beginning about... nothing really, and the way everything was produced and presented, there was nothing fun about watching it. None of what I like about Kisumai was coming through on Kiss-My-Fake, and then there was that argument between Miyata and Senga. (And Miyacchi tries so hard, he really does, and Sen-chan really is the baby of the group.) Of course, with any argument on a tv show, there's some part of it that's being used to create drama, but when I see it on other groups' variety shows, they either immediately make up or otherwise show that they actually get along well even if they argue sometimes, and that never came on Kiss-My-Fake. It's happening on KisuHama, too, so I don't know if I can keep watching Kisumai's variety shows as things are now.
I haven't watched FNS Kayousai yet (because it is long), but just hearing that Busaiku performed TanaBota and seeing the caps of KiFT happily watching them, it makes me feel better about Kisumai. The fact that they had Busaiku perform in a show like that, that a lot of non-fans would be watching, it seems like maybe they are promoting Busaiku a ton more than I was expecting them to? Like maybe it's more than them throwing a bone to fans, and an actual step towards promoting SMY2 more. It's still too early to say, and it hurts to keep hoping and be disappointed over and over again. I feel like the smallest thing recently drastically shifts my view of Kisumai from positive to negative and then back from negative to positive.
And seeing the other three smiling, that's the biggest thing for me. Because of course they should want SMY2 to succeed as much as if not more than SMY2 does.
There's still a good chance I'll buy fewer of their releases or at least fewer versions of each release for until things improve. I have been dissatisfied with some of their recent releases. But it depends on where things go from here. For now, the conclusion of all the wavering and back and forth can only be wait and see. :

Date: 2013-12-05 10:04 am (UTC)I'm not watching much lately, just a couple of kisubusa once in a while, so I can't really say anything about the way they appear on TV lately. But yes, I've had the feeling from the beginning that they're always teased and made fun of. I think, okay, it's Japanese entertainment and that's normal, but then it becomes a bit too much. I didn't know about Miyata and Senga's argument as I'm not watching the show, but I feel it's the same as when Kitayama argued during kisuhama, that they let us see only the bad part of it and dramatize a lot.
As for Busaiku, I've never doubted it was a way to promote SMY2 and not just throwing a bone to fans. Also because not many fans look happy to have them promoted through self-degradation and humiliation. I am sure KiFT want them to succeed and I'll never doubt the bond the members have. The split was never their fault.
I can understand Nakai's reasoning and the way Busaiku can possibly appeal to a wider audience, but I certainly don't like the way they are belittled. I also fear this will increase the split which, in my opinion, was starting to get better lately. Having a sub-unit isn't maybe the best way to show that they need recognition within the group. :\ I can't foresee what is going to happen if they either succeed or fail, but I hope it won't make things worse for them. In case they succeed, I don't want them to be stuck with this busaiku image forever. :\
I've decided to support kisumai as 7 people. I'll keep buying their releases (even if ugh snow dome, i don't like that song at all) but keep a distance somehow. I can't feel down for every little thing that happens. :\ But I still want to believe in the boys if I can't trust the management to give us fans what we want. I have too many mixed feelings about busaiku, but I think I will buy it and support them without really agreeing with the concept. I'm really unsure, but maybe if they fail it will be even worse, maybe they will really think their place is just at the back and they can't do anything. On the other hand I'm afraid that in future they will only be given chances of being ridiculous... :\ they're idols, and I hope someone will understand that.
That said, I'd love if there was a way to show my disapproval without having to stop supporting kisumai, because, I still like them as individual and as a group, and they still make me happy for many things. I don't want to only notice the negative things and forget what I love about them. ;__;
this comment is tl;dr sorry XD;

Date: 2013-12-06 05:48 am (UTC)I'm worried, too, that it'll be worse if the Busaiku single fails than if it succeeds. Although the song is kind of so-so, with both good and bad parts, there are things that, to me, make the single worth buying enough even beyond wanting to support SMY2. In a way, not just with SMY2, but with all the members, I feel like they haven't gotten enough chances to show to the wider public (beyond hardcore fans) all the different facets of their personalities. There's building a "character" and then there's being one-dimensional, so I hope for more chances for all the members to show different sides of themselves. >_<
Yeah, I don't want to give up on them yet, but I agree about keeping a distance. I think I need to cut things like variety shows that are only going to show me things that are frustrating while keeping up with things that show me the parts of Kisumai I want to see.
I kinda felt like my post was tl;dr, so, ^^ But I think it's good to write it all out to help me organize my thoughts and get through this. When I think of each individual member, I can think about things I love about them, so I really want to see those aspects of them coming through and meshing together in a beautiful group.

Date: 2013-12-08 09:57 am (UTC)Compare to the last season, I'm thinking kishama is getting more interesting, at least the themes there are some changes which are different compared with season 2 which is a lot of food eating.
I really suggest you watch the kisumai FNS Kayousai performance, probably a few of the kisumai cuts,maybe it really will make you feel better.
