Being conscious of my online spaces

I really don't know where to be active online anymore. I like this space, but most of my LJ friends have left it, and I don't have DW friends yet. Twitter's okay sometimes, but it's too short. Tumblr was always a mess, and now they're removing swaths of adult content. Pillowfort was looking good, but it doesn't feel like as safe of a place for fan creators anymore. I like Ao#, but it's for posting, not community.

I like this space. I need to change my icons so they reflect my current interests more. I need to find friends on here.

FWIW, I've been poking around the search pages for some of my newest interests and also poking at the sitewide Latest Posts (which is how I found your post here! hi!), and it did help me find a couple of things (cool authors who I didn't know had DW accounts, communities that are up my alley, events, etc.) Friends, though... I guess that's something that will take time -- time to figure out if something will blossom into a solid friendship, at the very least. There's so many new people it's a little overwhelming, haha.
